Debbie Nash Welch spent nearly three decades designing and building custom homes along the East Coast. Today she creates paintings meant to live within those spaces – bringing warmth, mood, and a sense of personal connection to every environment.
With a trained artistic eye and a deep understanding of structure, proportion, and materials, Debbie’s work reflects both craftsmanship and her clients’ individuality. Her path has included work as a production potter, an apprentice carpenter, and ultimately the founder of her own design/build firm, DNW Design.
After her partner, Chuck Zapiec, was diagnosed with dementia, Debbie stepped away from building and returned to two lifelong passions: painting and writing. Together, they completed a deeply personal memoir, Before I Forget, chronicling Chuck’s professional football career and resulting illness. She is also the author of the novel, Seasons. Both are available on Amazon.
Today, Debbie paints full-time, often creating custom handcrafted ways to display her work. Her art is shaped by a lifetime of building where craftsmanship, design, and heart come together on canvas. Her work is available as original mixed media paintings or prints.
